Q.  Is ChromaDex™ part of the government?

A.  ChromaDex™ is not part of the government. ChromaDex™ is an independent, privately-owned organization. See About ChromaDex™ for more information.

Q.  What are the advantages of using ChromaDex standards and services?

A.  Manufacturers submit products to ChromaDex™ for testing and safety certification on a voluntary basis. There are no laws or regulations specifying the standards or product testing that ChromaDex™ must use in the USA.

In the US, there are many municipalities that have laws, codes, or regulations which require a product to be tested by a nationally recognized testing laboratory before it can be sold in their area.  ChromaDex Analytics is recognized as one of the best analytical testing laboratories in the United States.  ChromaDex™ does not, however, maintain a list of the jurisdictions having such regulations.

Many companies make it their policy to use our contract analytical services not only to minimize the possibility of local non-acceptance, but also as a matter of corporate policy and commitment to minimize the possibility of risk in the use of their products.

Q.  Does ChromaDex only test botanical products?

A.  ChromaDex™ is concerned with the safety aspect of all potentially hazardous products.  Our standards and testing services involve a wide variety of product categories, including foodstuffs, beverages, environmental, microbiological, pharmaceutical, phyto-pharmaceutical, cosmoceutical, and some marine products.  We test GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe) products as well as standards that may be used throughout the manufacturing process.

Q.  Do all the ChromaDex™ offices, especially the international offices, offer the same services?

A.  ChromaDex™ has a distribution network that spans the globe.   We have many distributors who represent many different countries.  The services offered at these locations may vary, according to the needs of the local region and staffing.
