Mark S. Germain - Co-Chairman, Non-Executive Director & Co-Founder

Mr. Germain is a co-founder of ChromaDex, Inc.  He has been involved as a director, Chairman of the Board of, and/or investor in, over 30 companies in the biotech field, and assisted many of them in arranging corporate partnerships, acquiring technology, mergers and acquisitions and financings.

He graduated New York University School of Law in 1975, Cum Laude and Order of the Coif, and practiced corporate and securities law, becoming partner in 1981 and leaving for the private sector in 1986.  Since then, and until he entered the biotech field in 1991, he served in senior executive capacities, including president of a public company sold in 1991.

Among the public biotech companies in which Mr. Germain was involved are Incyte Genomics, Alexion, Neurocrine, GeneMedicine (now Valentis), BioTechnology General, Pharmos and Epoch Bioscience.  Mr. Germain has also served as a director of Wellsford Real Properties, Inc., an American Stock Exchange listed company, since its inception in 1997, and as a trustee of its predecessor, Wellsford Residential Property Trust, a New York Stock Exchange listed REIT, since its inception in 1992 until it was acquired by Equity Residential Trust in 1997 for $1.4-billion.
