A MESSAGE FROM THE CEO
As we move into the second quarter of 2018, ISO accreditation among the dietary supplement industry continues to be a premiere topic. Along these lines, here have been some recent changes with ISO accreditation expectations related to reference standard providers and manufacturers. A new standard has been developed to replace the previously noted ISO guide 34 for reference standards. Released on November 2016, the standard guidelines for testing laboratories under ISO 17025 have also been updated for 2017.
Under the revised ISO 17025, reference standards must be sourced from providers that can demonstrate competence to ISO 17034. As a reflection of these changes, many organizations are currently in the process of incorporating the updated ISO 17025 standard guidelines, with the leading accreditation bodies having a compliance deadline of 2020.
Presently, ChromaDex is in the process of attaining accreditation for our reference standards under ISO 17034, and we expect to have it in place by the end of 2018, well before the date of compliance. On an interim basis, in lieu of providing our clients with an ISO certificate, our team will review any quality questionnaires or agreements our clients provide, as well as answer any questions regarding ChromaDex’s quality management system. Whether you are required to use certified reference materials from an accredited lab, ChromaDex can provide high quality reference materials. ChromaDex also enjoys the largest portfolio of vouchered specimens in the industry, and has an extensive selection of ready-to-ship in stock items.
We thank you for your patience as we move forward through this process, and appreciate the trust that you put in ChromaDex.
